Surprises!

The last few days were filled with wonderful surprises, starting on Thursday, my birthday!
1. Phil's Green Card has been issued. This one still hasn't quite sunk in, we originally filed the paperwork March 17, 2004 and at this point weren't quite sure when it would be issued. We are both relieved and excited, especially that it happened before Baby Jack's arrival!
2. I was completely surprised upon coming home from work on Thursday to see my parents and my Gramma Georgia here at the house! I knew my parents were coming for the weekend, but didn't think they were coming until Friday. And I had absolutely no idea Gramma was coming here or that she had been in Memphis with my parents since Tuesday. This was Phil's idea and has apparently been months in planning. They all did wonderfully, because I truly had no idea. We went out to eat Thursday night and were able to spend the rest of the weekend enjoying each other.
3. My surprises apparently were not over. We (I thought) were invited for supper at one of Phil's colleagues homes. She is going to be Jack's godmother and just a truly lovely, wonderful person to be around :-). When we get there, I find out it is actually a surprise baby shower, again I had no idea, and everyone else did! It was a lot of fun and we received many wonderful and thoughtful gifts.
As you can see, I am exhausted from surprises and have been assured that there are no more planned :-). I am so impressed everyone was able to keep the secrets, Phil and I are horrible (I thought) at surprising each other, most of the time we've even told what we're giving each other for Christmas, long before Christmas! And I talk with my Mom and Gramma quite often about most things, and they never let on! It was all just simply wonderful and made for a great birthday weekend. It was also exciting to think that the next time we see each other, Jack will be here!
