Welcome Fall!

Today we finally have weather in the 60s, which may not seem like much, but means it is on its way to being Fall!! I am always amazed at the huge difference in feeling between the 70s and the 60s. It also means when Jack is up from his nap we are going on a LONG walk. (Let's also hope it means we have many days in the 60s before we have many days in the 40s.) We were sad to see our company leave last Thursday. On Saturday we hit downtown St Charles for Oktoberfest! We had a great time, but I soon discovered when I picked up the camera that I had left the memory chip at home - things like that make me so frustrated at myself. We had lunch there and listened to the music. Jack LOVED his potato pancake with applesauce and even sampled some bratwurst.

Above Jack is drinking his strawberry flavored Kefir. I saw this in the dairy section a few weeks ago and thought to give it a try with him. He loves it. Because he can be a bit impatient with the actual process of eating - I am always looking for something he can drink that has protein, etc. And this stuff is packed with it, along with other good things. It is also much lower in sugar (even the flavored kind) than the flavored yogurt smoothies I had been buying. He drinks it out of a cup with no lid and doesn't even spill (so far!).

This weekend we are headed to Chicago! Finally, we've been intending to go ever since we moved here. But we have a special reason! Cousin Karl is graduating from Navy Boot Camp at Great Lakes on Saturday! Yay! We are hoping to see some sights and to hit Ikea. So excited.
